Sorry I haven't written in awhile, but I really don't have much to say. We've been home a little over three weeks and we're still staying with the in-laws, we're still looking for jobs and we're still broke. Friends tell me to enjoy the free time because working sucks, and I know the feeling, but it's hard to enjoy endless free time when you have no money and are dependent on someone else for food and shelter. I know this won't last forever but I'm I'm tired of living in limbo. However, on the upside, there are much worse limbos to live in than scenic beach houses with mother-in-laws that cook, clean and give you cars. I'm sure you're all devastated for me.
I've applied to approximately 25 jobs and have only heard back from one company. Of course, this is mostly my fault as I'm not really qualified for the majority of jobs I applied to. I suppose I hoped employers would be so dazzled by my two degrees and three internships that they'd waive the 2-5 years of experience requirement. Not so much. In my defense, however, why do employers list a position as entry-level when they want someone with 2-5 years experience? I was under the impression that entry-level meant 0 years of experience or one year at the most.
I do have an interview with a Ft. Lauderdale advertising agency next week though. In my research I've found that they are a large, successful company, but I did find some scathing comments from disgruntled employees claiming it's a terrible place to work. Nevertheless, I'm going to try and keep an open mind when I go in and it's not like I can afford to blow off the opportunity anyway. I found similar comments about Nova before I applied but the job was fine until they stopped paying people. Wish me luck on my interview.
I'm not sure what to do with this blog now that I'm no longer in Japan. The stat counter shows a sharp drop in visitors. Maybe that's because I'm posting entries about resumes and job interviews instead of raw horse sushi and karaoke. Should I keep the link, change the name and carry on? Or should I close this blog and start another? I need to get rid of the red parasol template, that's for sure. What do you think?

I vote for a new template, but I'm not sure a new blog entirely would be a good thing ... since people are already used to coming to this address to find you.
Whatever you decide, make sure and tell us where you are so we can follow you!
Good luck with the interview.
I always wondered the same, what to do with my blog when I move back to Australia.
I decided I'd start a new blog, but make sure that the last post on the old one was a link to the new one saying that I'd move.
We've decided to sign another 1 year contract though, so I don't have to worry about that just yet ;)
